This is the second STAIR auction in which I've participated and won. The whole process was simple and clear-from the description of the lot of photographs that I purchased to the payment process to the pick up in Hudson. I am now following STAIR and will certainly participate in future auctions. Highly recommended.

This auction house was very helpful my sculpture purchase. They recommended a great shipping source and gave me all the information I needed concerning the piece. I would definitely buy from this auction house again.

This unfortunately has been my second purchase through Stair of a furniture piece not being described accurately. The chest came and was missing additional pieces not mentioned in the condition report. The auction house was less than accommodating when I pointed this out, and making a new knee fitting will be extremely costly. My advice: if you can’t inspect this in person before the auction, don’t bid.

Had a driver in area to pick up on Friday afternoon. Stair has set hours but offered to fudge a little to affect pickup. That is service with a big fat smile! It proved not necessary as we picked up within their hours but it was close.. As for the chest, never go wrong with Stair everything as described. Been shopping there 20 plus years and never disappointed.

The description was inaccurate. The figure was broken and a part missing. When personally picking up the item it was placed in front of us without being prepared to only provide some paper for wrapping.

My first auction at STAIR was just wonderful. Vase was perfectly described and pictured, and payment/shipping was very easy.

Items are apparently repaired, and the auction house is dishonest

Not only was I surprised to be the high bidder for an artwork from Andre Leon Talley's estate, but the resulting process of payment and arranging shipping (through a third party) could not have been easier. I am extremely pleased to have done business STAIR, which is a highly reputable auction house. I certainly will watch their upcoming auctions for other works that catch my eye.

Purchased a $3, 500 photograph and have had zero replies to several messages over 3-4 weeks. No response, so status update, no merchandise. Honestly, pretty surprised and very disappointed in their service so far.
