Amazon Queen prize winner in Paris saloon, 1911 is semi solid cast, with arms and legs perfectly fitted and pinned to torso. strong featured and muscular, yet beautiful and feminine. To truly appreciate its artistic beauty and craftsmanship, this work should be viewed from all sides. The Amazon Queen (Hippolyta) was the fiercest of the mythological female warrior, although described as single breasted in story, in sculpture and art she's always rendered with her womanly attributes intact. In her hair she wears the moon of Diane the huntress, her patron goddess. This sculpture is 100% bronze and is handmade.
