The Collection of Ann and Gordon Getty

Our second sale of works from the esteemed Getty collection, The Collection of Ann and Gordon Getty: A Confluence of 19th and 20th Century Design, offers fine and decorative arts made between 1860 and 1920, representing Mrs. Getty?s taste for design from this period which she most notably displayed in their Berkeley, CA home, Temple of Wings. Layering furniture, objects and fine art created a sumptuous and elegant home that showcased Mrs. Getty?s prowess as an interior designer and collector. Highlights include lighting and glass from Tiffany Studios, pewter by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co., and ceramics by William De Morgan as well as furniture from George Washington Jack for Morris & Co., an oak and leather curule armchair by Gillows of Lancaster, a pair of ?Abingdon Armchairs, by George Walton, Glasgow School, Liberty & Co. Thebes stool and a smokers cabinet and a pair of folding chairs by Francis & Son, Ltd.
