Terrible experience. Have never spoken to a more rude individual responsible for assisting a buyer. I emailed the company advising who would be picking up my items, received a confirmation back, and then a few days later received a phone call telling me I needed to make arrangements for pick-up. I returned the call and started to explain the aforementioned when the angry man said, "NAME?" I was in the middle of telling him that the account had 2 names on it and he interrupted me and said, "You don't know your name?" I then told him if he would let me finish I would explain. I was then berated by the angry man and told, "Well then what are you calling for?" When I was returning THEIR call. Trust the reviews. Look at how he responds to them. This is who you are dealing with. Hope things get better for him. Worst auction house I've ever dealt with. Learn how to speak to people.

Love the new table! Was drawn to the size (perfect between two chairs) and the pretty circular trim. Looks great in living room with a glass top. Thank you to the team at George Cole for always being helpful and friendly.

I arranged to come pick up my item (I had already paid). Drove 40 minutes to be told that someone else had already bought and picked up my item. They explained it happens sometimes as they are on different online auction sites. No phone call, no apology, just a shrug of the shoulders when I expressed my disappointment. Never bidding there again.

I have found several items that I placed bids on and won several, The staff was great answering my questions and very helpful arranging pickup of my items.

Thank you, George Cole Auctions! I have been the winning bidder on dozens of items in the past 5 + years and every item is a winner and the team could not be nicer. I typically drive from Boston to pick up my winnings and have used shipping a few times. Always smooth! Look forward to auction announcements and will continue to be a regular bidder.

I purchased a set of chairs and table from this auction house in January 2024. Shortly before the auction I informed Mr Cole that I would need additional time to find a shipper if I were to be a successful bidder on any items. He then said that it was okay as long as I kept them informed of my progress. In early February a shipper that I hired arrived at their site after I had just mentioned that he would be arriving. When the shipper arrived to pick up the items George Cole refused to release them because Hughes didn't know my last name but he had my phone number and all of our text messages to show him absolute proof of ownership. The driver then left and said that he would be back. A few weeks later the driver showed back up and was informed that I had abandoned the property. I called Mr Cole and took an arrogant approach to me and said that I only had 10 days to pick the items up. If that were the case, why did he not say this when the driver first arrived to pick the items up? I have been buying oak furniture for well over 40 years and have never been treated with such disrespect as I have with this auction house. Not once had Mr Cole ever called me to have these items picked up or that they would have been considered abandoned. In my opinion this individual was not truthful to me. I am not out of money for this purchase and I feel a responsibility to the driver that has shown up twice to pick these items up. The truth of the matter is that the lot was resold at a higher price to someone else. My advice to anyone that buys from this company is that you record your conversations or get everything in writing if your circumstances differ from their policy. I would have never bought these items if I knew that Mr Cole would change the rules that we agreed upon in advance. He also claimed that he called me twice which I will emphatically state is a complete falsehood. Buyers, be aware of this company.

George sets the tone for the auction house that beats his name. He is ready going willing to work with the customer, and outstanding to work with. I have bid with George several times in the past and will continue to do so. He and his company make the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

Ive dealt with this company multiple times and their on line bidding fees as well as asministrative charges are well more than most other auction houses. Make sure you're fullt aware of the added fees before bidding. My last purxhase was also in total disrepair and although their page stated it was in working order it was not. Yes, it atarted and moved but spark pkug wires and other wires were eaten by mice, the batter had been charged just enough for it to start bit after 3 days was conpletely dead etc. Just be aware.

I bought a lot of vintage toys including several rare and valuable items. 2 of the best pieces were plucked out of the lot before it was shipped to me. The auction house is unhelpful, condescending and degrading. There are numerous other not good reviews. Avoid in future.
