Delay Delay Delay... so tell me
The auction house took payment immediately, however, after almost 3 weeks with no word, I had to query the delay in at least a shipping update. To be fair, they responded quickly, but it would seem that notification of delays there would be standar procedre. Still no info after 3 weeks, though they have mounted a number of subsequent sales without delay.

Hello-Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our profuse apologies for our shipping delays. We did send out a mass email back in September to all our clientele, about our shipping delays and the timelines we were/are expecting for the purpose of transparency, communication, and appreciation, and thanking everyone for their patience during this challenging time. We previously were having an issue with staffing shortages, on the heels of some past problems that had compounded, that have contributed to the delays, but we have hired new staff and the shipping department is working diligently, putting in extra hours to catch up in the queue, with our ultimate goal being a 5-to 7-day turnaround time between payment and shipping. Live Auctioneers does charge payment to credit cards three days post-auction, and payment is secured to hold the item (s) for our customers so they don't get re-listed in the auctions in between winning the lot and shipping. We have, indeed, continued to run our weekly auctions, as we still need to bring in the income to "keep the lights on", pay our staff, pay our consignors, etc. So it's not realistic to shut down operations to catch up on the shipping backup. However, please know that this is our number one priority right now, and we are working extremely hard to eliminate the issue, as we do realize how frustrating these delays are for our valued customers. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I do see that your items were received earlier this week-I hope everything arrived safely, and that you are enjoying your new treasures! Friendly and Accommodating Staff
After winning the item, I realized that I would likely be out of town when the package, which was superbly packaged, would be delivered. I contacted Artemis Gallery and asked if they could delay shipping. They were very helpful and held the item until I returned home. While we realize our buyer's premium may seem on the higher side, we think you will find that it is in-line and comparable to that of other auction houses in the current market. One portion of the fee goes to Live Auctioneers off the top, to pay for the use of running our auction on their platform. The remainder of the funds support in-house, and other auction house fees, for maintaining our brick-and-mortar location and staff, consignor support, writing and research, inventory processing... there are many "behind the scenes" costs of running the business that the buyer's premium helps to support, to ensure that we are still able to provide the level of quality, service, and product that has gone into the Artemis Gallery name that has been over 25 years in the making.
