Frank Hodges On Premises Estate Auction

When Lot # 1 appears on the screen, the catalogue will be completed. It will hopefully go up this Friday after 2:00 Eastern Time. Until then, enjoy the perusing of classical real antiques. Frank Hodges, Jr., of Morristown, Tennessee, was a descendant of 2 Pioneer East Tennessee families, both of whom collected early artifacts, especially regional pottery. They also had interests in early anything. When Frank married, his wife and her family, were well known collectors, with items they owned now in several museums. Together Mr. & Mrs. Hodges collected on a scale hard to imagine, both early and Victorian. Guns, 1820s Virginia Quaker powder horn with carving of Kill the Raskals, along with orientalia. Early items include regional pottery from Christopher A. Haun, M. P. Harmon, Huffman, Sand Mountain, Charles Decker, Glass, as well as many others. They also had a Walnut arched glass door Greene County, Tenn., corner cupboard, a Grainger/Greene County Cherry pie safe with arches, 10+ fine quilts and coverlets, early ironwork, Wilder Chairs, dovetailed blanket chests, Walnut Jackson Press w/18 panes of glass, Walnut armoir, 9'tall pier mirror, books, linens, cut glass, linens, 1 & 2 drawer tables, primitive furniture, rope beds, high chairs, folk art including hounds treeing raccoons, blacksmith iron & copper, 1941 Buick Special, 1500 Ford Tractor, 8'brass sleigh bells on the original leather strap, marble top tables & dressers, apple butter buckets, clocks including a Columbus Calendar Clock, Old Paris vases, lots of interesting and classic antiques. 600+ lots. 30 acres of parking, catering by Deidra of Greeneville, if planning on attending, please BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS & LOTS OF PACKING, you will need both, 20% Buyers Premium, There is so much here on the property, more is being found every day. M. P. Harmon Mohawk Tn Pot: 6 1/4" tall by 5 1/2" wide, clearly readable M. P. Harmon banded marking along the top of the pot, some finger prints in the clay, firing blisters, great shape.
