NYDG Foundation: Rx Haiti Partnering with Hanger Ivan R. Sabel Foundation Celebrity Effort To Raise Critical Funds for Earthquake Survivors in Need of Replacement Limbs New York, NY, April 6, 2010 -- Mick Jagger, L’Wren Scott, Rachel Weisz, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michelle Williams, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Helmut Lang, John Currin, Rachel Feinstein, Naomi Watts, Zac Posen, Christopher Niquet, Griffin Dunne, Edie Falco and David Colbert, MD host a benefit and auction to raise funds for Haitians who suffered loss of limb during the January earthquake. “I came back from Haiti believing that one of the most important things we can do is to provide the prosthetics and related services that people who were injured will need to function again. If each of us does one little thing, it can add up to a very big thing, so we are raising money for a prosthetics clinic in Port au Prince that we know will make a big difference” - Dr. David Colbert during his first visit to Haiti after the earthquake The auction will feature the works of major artists and photographers, designer dresses and jewelry, guitars signed by Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, a luxury cruise and other special donations. All proceeds will help secure prosthesis and provide attendant medical care for Haitians who suffered loss of limb during the earthquake. The benefit and auction will be held Thursday, May 6th, 2010 at The Greenhouse, Scholastic, 557 Broadway, New York. The event includes a VIP Reception from 6 to 7:00 PM ($750 person), and a Cocktail Party and Auction from 7-10PM ($400/person).
