Compellingly, Artemis adds particular care to the documentation, provenance and legal care of appropriately protected objects. I trust them, their packing is exemplary, the objects are carefully represented in the shipment, including historical references and a photograph. The indian brass dancing figures are in very good condition and almost better that the photos but the wood altar of Krishna and Radha has a very bad and decolored patina which does not correspond at all to what is indicated in the lot condition: "Great patina"

As a multi time buyer, I’ve learned to trust the detailed item descriptions. Buying online is far harder than in person where actual seeing and touching an item can give you important insights. Where this really comes into play is restored items. From pictures you might notice a repair, but not if it is done by an expert. You can trust this seller to disclose restorations, not discover them when the item is received. I often learn new things in reading their lengthy descriptions and augment my own knowledge. For sure in my collection their description always augments my notes and details. They have a superb in house shipping service that double boxes delicate items. It is price competitive with sometimes less reliable and careful shipping services and makes the whole transaction one stop shopping. Some of the bigger houses could learn a thing or two about putting on a good auction from them …. Last, they communicate promptly and clearly. I highly recommend them.

Do I need an antique Thai coconut grater in the shape of a rabbit? No! Did I want one? I did when I saw this one! One of the best things about Artemis Gallery auctions is the unique and sometimes quirky items on offer. You're sure to find something that catches your eye and piques your interest. I always browse their auction catalogs when a new auction is announced because I'm sure I'll find something cool-and fun-like my coconut grater. I'm not going to be grating coconut with it anytime soon, but it is already a conversation piece at parties and it just makes me smile every time I look at it.

I’ve attended the Artemis Gallery’s auctions for several years and am always impressed with the quality of the lots, along with their descriptions. I have a great deal of respect for AG, as they treat me with respect. My items come beautifully packaged, complete with a beautiful signed description of my item, for my records. This far surpasses any other auction house with whom I’ve done business. Yes, I grant you the AG items are for the well-heeled collector. But, I, as a casual collector, with less resources, have procured some absolutely wonderful lots and the historical narrative which accompany the auctions is so educational.
